Ordering a Pizza

Hello? Is that the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran? The press office? At 16 Princess Gate, London?
Splendid, I would like to order a pizza please. Yes a pizza.

What?? You don’t… Really? Are you sure?

Oh, wait. Ooops! We’ve only gone and confused you with Bella Italia at 108 Queensway haven’t we! Silly old us. Completely different place, obviously. Still, its only 1.7 nautical miles away, so an easy mistake to make… Sorry for any inconvenience…

Teens get a sobering lesson

Here in my home town, teens were treated to a sobering lesson on the dangers of drink driving. Way to go CHP! (Thats something I don’t say often)

A big difference between the UK and the USA is that over here it is still socially acceptable to drive intoxicated. Yes, there are still those that do so in the UK, but there are always bad apples in every barrel. It is now part of the night out to prebook taxis, look at bus schedules etc. My experiences here are that people just wing it and postpone the decision until they are not in a state to make a good one.

Connecting to a Mac OS X share from Vista

One of the things that is annoying me about Vista is that I can’t
connect to my SMB shares on my Mac. When I try to log in, it rejects my
password. I looked at /var/log/samba/log.smbd on my Mac, and here’s
what I saw:

User “username” failed to authenticate with
“dsAuthMethodStandard:dsAuthNodeNTLMv2” (-14090)
